BREAKING NEWS: House bill would delay ICD-10 deadline until at least 2015

The planned implementation of a nationwide conversion to the ICD-10 family of diagnostic and procedural codes would be extended at least a year by a House Ways and Means Committee bill aimed at providing the annual fix of the physician sustainable growth-rate formula.

“The Secretary of Health and Human Services may not, prior to October 1, 2015, adopt ICD-10 code sets as the standard,” states section 212 of the proposal.
