5 dos and don’ts for healthcare social media
Social media is sweeping almost every business sector, and healthcare is no exception.
A recent study of Ohio hospitals, for example, found a majority of the organizations spent somewhere between 10 and 50 percent of their communication efforts on social media, up from less than 10 percent just three years ago. Moreover, about half expect to spend another 10 percent or more of their time on promoting their initiatives on social media.
But it’s not enough for hospitals to simply increase their use of social media; to get the most out of the platforms, hospitals must use the platforms wisely. Here are three ways leaders can make social media work for their organizations and two ways it can go wrong.
